Dear customer,
FSQ was briefly off the radar, which is why you did not receive our usual newsletter. We are back now, and we trust that the coronavirus pandemic has not had too much of an impact on your lives. It’s almost impossible to predict how this pandemic will play out. What we can do, however, is anticipate on business challenges and look for opportunities. We continue to be optimistic about the future. Together with you.

This newsletter is all about Christmas. Time to get festive and create a cosy ambience in your home. Our in-house florist Bob van den Heuvel of BOB shows you how to make a beautiful Christmas wreath using fresh roses. This year, his go-to colour is pink!
These past months we spent a lot of time putting RoseAmor in the spotlight. To this end, we launched a new website and hired a new colleague to build customer relationships.
Today, 6 November, we should have been enjoying a cosy Friday afternoon with you in our booth at the IFTF in Vijfhuizen, as is tradition. We are incredibly sad that we were unable to receive you this year. Please know that you are always welcome to discover our collection of new rose varieties. Please call to make an appointment first.

Happy reading!

RoseAmor by Four Seasons Quality
This past summer, we spent a lot of time promoting RoseAmor By Four Seasons Quality. The peerless RoseAmor rose grows at high altitude in Ecuador in a region that offers the perfect climatic conditions for quality rose cultivation. Thanks to our specific treatment, the eternal beauty of the preserved RoseAmor rose will never fade.
In April we hired Lars Winters to enable the continuous growth of this magnificent brand. Lars’s duty is to find new customers and provide support to existing customers. As of December, we will be publishing a dedicated RoseAmor letter four times a year. In the first issue, which you will receive by email on 6 December, Lars will personally introduce himself to you.
You can find a complete overview of the ‘beauty with endless possibilities’ online at www.roseamor.nl, in addition to an online shop for easy and convenient shopping. The website also offers plenty of information and inspiration about the countless colours and ways to use RoseAmor.

Inspired by BOB

Every year, our in-house florist Bob van den Heuvel designs a beautiful booth for FSQ at the IFTF. We have asked him to come up with a monthly flower arrangement for our newsletter, “Bob’s view on flower arrangements with roses". The first issue is all about Christmas.

Bob: “How lucky am I with this first newsletter! Christmas is my favourite time of the year to create floral arrangements! Red and white have always been the go-to Christmas colours, but I want to show you how to create stunning Christmas flower arrangements using other colours and materials. A traditional Christmas wreath, with a twist... This year I have chosen to work with “Shimmer", a light pink to orange rose. This rose is distributed by Kordes and is part of FSQ’s exclusive line.

The wreath features all the colours of the rose. No Christmas evergreen cuttings this year. I went with dried autumn leaves as a substrate instead. Matt golden baubles, pinecones, cinnamon sticks and various grasses complete the arrangement.

By limiting the number of different materials and shades, you create an attractive, peaceful, romantic Christmas arrangement.

Love,
BOB.

Flashback Friday

One of the best moments in these past two years definitely was the introduction of our new logo at the 2018 IFTF. The journey we made together to put a new face on the FSQ brand and the reveal in our booth by Karin Bloemen was a creative process that we all remember with great pleasure. To this day, we are still very happy with the logo change. The golden look reflects our optimism for the future. We look forward to welcoming you again next year at the IFTF in Vijfhuizen.

San Vicente de Paul Orphanage

At the moment all children of the Orphan House “San Vicente de Paul” are enjoying good health and maintaining strong health safety measures. They went through a tough period in May-June, were several tutors of the new born and baby area were infected by COVID. Some kids were also infected but they did not show any symptoms. The Ministry of Health gave support by making tests to all employees but the virus was controlled quickly and now they have no active cases. The measures are still strong, nobody from outside the Orphan House can visit and all person working there have several measures for biosecurity.

In terms of general health all the kids are doing good. They have a doctor/nurse every day to check the kids and provide medication if needed. Apart from this, there is an association of private doctors that visit every week to provide free checks and assistance if needed.

In terms of Economy, the orphanage is facing financial difficulties because the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion has not yet deposited the second disbursement for 2020. They argue that the Orphanage has not made public purchases. The government now forces all social entities that receive money from the state to make public purchases. But this has not been the case in the Orphan house because mostly they receive donations and purchases from the donors. This is a conflict that the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion has to solve, but until then they are low in the budget they need to face.

In terms of education, the orphan house is doing well for home schooling. They increased the internet speed so all the kids can connect via the schooling platforms and study. They modified rooms to make the computer school area. They bought a computer apart of all the devices FSQ and EMIHANA donated to the Orphanage. This week I will go to the orphan house to provide another computer we have at the office we won’t use anymore (Rens brought a new one for Melissa) So the old computer will serve for other children.
